Jakarta, 11 September 2021 - The community development program as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Erajaya Group continues developing innovations to support and the activities of forest farmer groups more optimally in utilizing local economic in Rumpin District, Bogor Regency.
One of them is a post-harvest program in the form of processing essential oil now entering a new phase after previously successfully producing citronella oil in large quantities. Recently, Erajaya group facilitates farmer groups with distillation machines for small-scale production which in the future will produce various variations of other essential oil products.
Currently, the distillation machine has been installed and the farmer group is gradually testing and formulating other raw materials such as galangal and eucalyptus. Furthermore, training will be conducted for members of farmer groups who will be involved in essential oil production. The capacity of this machine is only 10-15 kg and does not require many people for daily operations and shorter time used.
This program is a strategy for adaptation of the uncertainty of raw material commodity prices which is a concern for farmers, especially during the mass harvest. By processing it into various essential oils, hopefully, can provide additional selling value.
