Bogor, April 11, 2021 - White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) has long been known and cultivated as a food mushroom. Many studies have been conducted to determine the nutritional content contained in oyster mushrooms. As a food source, white oyster mushrooms are also known for their delicious taste and can be processed in various ways.
The advantages of developing white oyster mushrooms are a fairly short life cycle until harvest time, relatively easy to cultivate and quite adaptive to the use of media. White oyster mushroom is suitable to be developed in tropical areas with high humidity and good sunlight intensity. In terms of economic value, oyster mushroom cultivation is very prospective because it has a fairly good selling value in the market, even with the quality and variety of processing it will further increase its selling value.
The Oyster Mushroom Farming Course was attended by participants from KTH Lebak Sawo (5 people), KTH Lio Maju (1 person), KTH Rumpin Indah (3 people), KTH Barokah Hijau (3 people). This training was led by Mr. Sihabuddin (KTH Family Mandiri-Leuwi Liang) and accompanied by BDLHK Field Facilitators and BDLHK Bogor Forest Service Workers.
The training material itself contains a general understanding of oyster mushrooms, mushroom cultivation and marketing. The enthusiasm of the participants is very high because mushrooms are currently being sought after by the public because they will enter the month of Ramadan. Making baglogs in the mushroom cultivation process is the main activity.
In the Practice of Making Baglog training starts from providing material tools, mixing media (sawdust, lime, bran, gypsum and water), composting, filling and compaction of media, steaming / sterilizing, cooling, seeding, incubating, the last process is storing baglogs in kumbung. The amount generated from the training on March 24-26, 2021 was 1,100 baglogs. The training was conducted at BDLHK Bogor. After this training, KTH Lebak Sawo will continue to make its baglog. Baglogs created in addition to KTH Lebak Sawo will also be distributed to KTH Lio Maju, Rumpin Indah and Barokah Hijau.
The hope is that in the future the making of baglogs can be consistent and the mushrooms produced are of good quality so that the production of oyster mushrooms is abundant and can help meet the needs of the community.
