Jakarta, 5 June 2023 - Erajaya Group continues to be committed to carrying out responsible business activities and supporting the achievement of sustainable national development, one of which is through empowering MSME. This commitment is realized in the form of collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, especially the Deputy for Micro Business, through a supply chain development program in the retail trade and accessories sector for micro business partners. This was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by Hasan Aula, Deputy Main Director of PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk and Yulius, Deputy for Micro Business, Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. The signing of this memorandum of understanding was witnessed directly by Teten Masduki as Cooperatives and SMEs Minister, at the Mercure Alam Sutera Hotel, Tangerang, on Wednesday (31/5).
Jimmy Peranin Angin, as Erajaya's Chief Human Capital, Legal and CSR, said that "Through the signing of this MoU, Erajaya Group synergizes with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to realize the implementation & collaboration of corporate social responsibility programs in a supply chain pattern for micro business partners. Our initial step going forward is to develop a database of potential SMEs and synchronize the company's business needs with SMEs that have the potential to become Erajaya's partners in fulfilling the supply chain. With this collaboration, we hope to be able to contribute to the development of the business scale of micro business partners and together contribute to improving the national economy.”
The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki, said that this strategic partnership program and supply chain strengthening needed to be continuously boosted so that MSME players could grow together and be more prosperous. "MSME players can no longer works individually if they want to increase their business capacity," said Teten.
MSME must enter the industrial supply chain and partner with large industries if they want to increase their welfare and productivity. "That's why we are now partnered with business actors, both private and state-owned enterprises, so that integrated MSME become part of the industry," said Teten. This will be optimized through the KUMKM Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT - KUMKM) as a consulting and business service center for KUMKM actors.
The signing of the PLUT - KUMKM MoU is part of the company's social activities through the Lentera Kasih pillar which focuses on community empowerment, where the company will provide assistance to UKM according to the principles of environmental social governance (ESG) and focus on increasing local economic participation and involving UKM in supply chain in a sustainable manner. This collaboration program does not only focus on business to business interests in the supply chain sector between Erajaya and micro business partners, but also includes:
- Fostering and developing micro-enterprises through training, mentoring, support for production facilities, and technology development.
- Support and implementation for micro business partners who join the supply chain development program in the retail and accessories trading sector
- Publication and socialization of cooperation programs
- Supply chain partnership facilities
- Supply chain-based Cluster-based People's Business Credit (KUR) financing access facility for Micro Enterprises.
