Yogyakarta, August 19, 2026 – Marking Erajaya Group’s 30-year journey in Indonesia, its commitment to vocational education represents one of the company’s tangible contributions to the long-term development of Indonesia’s national talent. PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting vocational education and fostering stronger alignment between the education sector and industry needs. This commitment is realized through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk and the Directorate General of Secondary and Special Education, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, on August 19, 2026, in Yogyakarta. The agreement marks a continuation of Erajaya’s vocational education collaboration, which has been ongoing since 2019.
As a retail business group operating across various industry sectors, Erajaya Group recognizes vocational education as an important component in preparing a workforce equipped with the competencies and understanding required to address industry needs and dynamics. The collaboration with Vocational High Schools (SMK) not only provides students and graduates with industry exposure but also forms part of the company’s efforts to develop talent that is relevant to the needs of the workforce.
Jimmy Peranginangin, Group Chief of HC, GA, Litigations & CSR of Erajaya Group, said, “Erajaya views collaboration with vocational education institutions as an important part of building a stronger connection between the education sector and industry needs. As a continuously growing company, we require talent with the competencies and understanding of the needs of the retail and technology distribution industries. Therefore, our collaboration with vocational high schools not only contributes to the development of students’ competencies, but also forms part of our efforts to prepare talent that is relevant to industry needs.”
As of 2026, Erajaya Group has established partnerships with 221 vocational high schools across 29 provinces and 112 cities and regencies throughout Indonesia. These collaborations form part of Erajaya Group’s efforts to expand access for vocational high school students and graduates to industry exposure, competency development, work-based learning, and employment opportunities. From January to July 2026, Erajaya also continued to consistently conduct various activities to support the strengthening of vocational education in collaboration with vocational high schools in Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta, with plans to expand these initiatives to other regions across Indonesia.
This collaboration is aligned with the government’s efforts to strengthen the link and match between vocational education and workforce needs. Director of Vocational High Schools at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr. Arie Wibowo Khurniawan, S.Si., M.Ak., said, “We continue to strengthen the implementation of the 8+i framework as a form of link and match between vocational high schools and industry. Going forward, student internship programs need to be designed in a more structured and thematic manner, while delivering tangible impact. At the same time, industry partnerships for vocational high schools need to be further strengthened, including for schools outside Java that still face limitations in accessing industry partners.”
Meanwhile, Director General of Secondary and Special Education Tatang Muttaqin, S.Sos., M.Ed., Ph.D., in his remarks during the signing ceremony for the industry partnership, emphasized that strengthening collaboration with industry is an important part of addressing the gap between students’ need for practical work experience and the availability of industry partners. The involvement of industry practitioners in vocational education is also considered important and should continue to be expanded.
Going forward, Erajaya Group will expand its collaboration with vocational education institutions across various regions in Indonesia. Through increasingly strong partnerships between the education sector and industry, Erajaya Group aims to continue supporting the development of student and educator competencies, while also expanding access to industry experience and employment opportunities for vocational education graduates.
