Jakarta, 4 July 2025 – PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk has successfully received the IDX Channel ESG Award 2025. This award is given as an appreciation for the company’s commitment and consistency in implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across all aspects of its operations.
Jimmy Perangin Angin, Group Chief of HC, GA, Litigation & CSR of the Erajaya Group, expressed his gratitude for the award. According to him, this recognition affirms the efforts the company has made so far in supporting sustainability.
“We’re very happy to be part of this event, especially to receive this award. Because this is a recognition that what we’ve been doing so far is aligned with what we’re supposed to be doing. There’s a panel of judges, after all, who can evaluate things based on proper standards,” said Jimmy on Friday (4/7/2025).
In terms of ESG implementation, Erajaya actively carries out various strategic programs across the three main ESG pillars: environment, social, and governance. One of the flagship programs highlighted is e-waste management.
“For example, we’re running an e-waste management program. We’re truly focused on collecting used gadgets at several of our outlets. And we take responsibility for ensuring that these used gadgets are properly dismantled by certified vendors. We really oversee the process all the way through,” he continued.
Nonetheless, implementing ESG certainly comes with its challenges. According to Jimmy, the involvement of various stakeholders is a crucial factor in successfully executing ESG within a company.
“The involvement of all parties who should indeed be involved in ESG is essential. The focus or concern should start from the government, the community, and of course also the public’s own awareness, because ESG is extremely important,” he noted.
Jimmy revealed that going forward, Erajaya has prepared several follow-up programs to support sustainability, one of which is the Environmental Chain program. This program will include environmental conservation activities, such as tree planting and the preservation of flora and fauna, while continuing to involve surrounding communities.
“In the near future, we’ll also be carrying out further activities related to conservation, specifically environmental conservation through tree planting. But we’re also looking at how we can be involved in preserving the fauna and flora of the environment itself. This also includes engaging with local communities. That’s what we’re doing,” he concluded.
