PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk, through its retail network erafone, has successfully recorded positive achievements from the erafone Jaga Bumi sustainability campaign, which has been carried out in four major cities: Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, and Yogyakarta. Through this initiative, erafone demonstrates its commitment to responsible electronic waste (e-waste) management—not just as a program, but as a concrete step to drive a transformation in people’s lifestyles toward a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future.
Launched for the first time in Jakarta on February 27, 2025, the campaign then continued to Bandung on June 12, 2025, Bali on September 18, 2025, and most recently in Yogyakarta on October 1, 2025.
Achievements of the erafone Jaga Bumi Campaign
Through a series of activities in these three cities, the campaign has made a real impact, with the following results:
-
Reached 14 provinces in Indonesia
-
Processed 2,362 units of e-waste
-
Saved 301,261 kWh of energy
-
Reduced methane emissions by ±9 kg
-
Successfully cut CO₂E emissions by 170,080 kg, equivalent to the carbon absorption of 2,670 mature trees annually
-
Prevented 10 m³ of landfill waste
-
Collaborated with 59 vocational education institutions
-
Partnered with 18 local communities, including Artopologi, Parongpong, and Ecoway Conservation
Spotlight on the Bali Phase
During the Bali phase on September 18, 2025, community enthusiasm was palpable, with 56 units of e-waste collected, consisting of 44 smartphones, 1 tablet, and 11 feature phones. The participation of local communities, customers, and even government representatives not only supported e-waste management efforts, but also underscored Bali's important role as a driver of sustainable lifestyle practices.
Outcomes and Social Impact
Beyond the quantitative achievements, the campaign also delivered meaningful social impact:
-
Engaged over 300 active participants, including internal employees, customers, community members, and government representatives, all of whom directly contributed through gadget donations and sustainability education. This reflects a shift in consumer behavior from passive recipients to active sustainability advocates.
-
Fostered close collaboration with media partners, government bodies, and local communities to increase the inclusion of sustainability values in e-waste management.
-
Served as a catalyst for the integration of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into Erajaya’s broader corporate strategy in a comprehensive and inclusive manner.
“Through erafone Jaga Bumi, we want to show that e-waste management is not only about protecting the environment, but also about building collective awareness and encouraging people to take an active role. We believe this initiative can be one of the real steps toward creating a stronger, more impactful sustainability ecosystem in Indonesia,” said Jimmy Perangin Angin, Group Chief of HC, GA, Litigation & CSR, Erajaya Group.
